Summary: Q1 ’10 performance on Q4 ’09

Many sites hit a lull in visitors in Q4 and Q1 there is a renewed interest in varied websites including the ones that Sumobaby have built and support.  On aggregate traffic had fallen by +22% Q4 ’09-Q1 ’10 and similarly those clients that are paying for SEO services saw an increased by +22% Q4 ’09-Q1 ’10.

A positive growth for clients paying for SEO services and depending on client mix the volume increase may effect proportional changes.  It is expected that Q2 & Q3 in 2010 will continue to see significant growth.

Traffic distribution

Traffic source % Q3-Q4 diff high low
Direct 21% +3
41.1% 4.6%
Referring 15% -2 34.9% 4.9%
Search 64% -1 92.2% 41.4%

On aggregate there are no major fluctuations in traffic distribution. The highs and lows of each traffic source needs to be taken in context of a particular website, so where you may think that a low direct traffic volume would indicate poor brand awareness it may not be the case if that site happens to particularly excel in SEO.

The graph below shows a historical record of the change.
